The folding design reduces the Foon’s footprint from six inches in use, to less than four inches for storage. We know you care about every last ounce, and at a minuscule 0.3 oz., you won’t even notice it when it’s tucked neatly inside your cook kit.

Our Verdict

GSI Outdoors’ Folding Foon is a great little bit of kit (despite the name). The metal handle and plastic spoon/fork end are super lightweight and fold down to less than 10cm. This makes it perfect for storing in a pan or even cup when you are traveling. The design is nice and simple with just three parts so there’s not much to go wrong. The good sized spoon allows you to shovel in those much needed calories at the end of the day.  

If I was being fussy I might say that the handle isn’t very comfortable but for how much time you are holding it compared to time spent carrying it there isn’t really much of a case to make for this being a problem.
